Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club shine at first Dressage competition

Dubai, UAE; November 09, 2009:

After many months of long hard hours of training and lessons all competitors began the count down to the first competition.

The livery clients representing DPEC consisted of Cindy Faber, Malika Faber, Suzzanna Foustok, Vicky Hamilton, Natalie Homer and Isabelle Tillen.

We also had Hayley Field, Equestrian Coordinator competing her own horse Apollo’s Mastermind and Alison O’Callaghan competing Riverside 8.

The day began with preparing the horses and loading them all onto the DPEC truck which was kindly driven by Jan Azam, Polo Coordinator.

We arrived at Emirates Equestrian Centre around midday where we settled the horses and calmed our own nerves. We were accompanied by 3 grooms Ahsan, Naseem and Amir who did a great job of preparing and looking after the horses. Time was ticking on and before we knew it 5pm had arrived and the first rider Cindy Faber started the competition off.

The DPEC “team supreme” consisted of Hayley Field, Equestrian Coordinator, Alison O’Callaghan, Riding Instructor, Cindy Faber, Junior livery client and Cristina Thompson from EEC trainer of the team.

We had some fabulous results with Hayley Field taking 2nd  Prize in the Novice section, Cristina taking home 1st prize in the Elementary FEI riding Apollo’s Mastermind owned by Hayley, Alison O’Callaghan taking home 4th in the Elementary FEI and 6th in the Medium and Cindy Faber taking home 5th in the Novice.

This has been a great start on record for Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and we will be representing the club again on Monday 16th November 2009.

On behalf of everybody I would like to say a big thank you to the Management at DPEC for the support leading up to the first competition and big congratulations to all DPEC competitors.
